I don't worry much about dressing mine the same - I have one boy and one girl, so it doesn't come up very often anymore. Especially since they are two now, and often pick their own clothes.

I feel like we give them a pretty good sense of individuality.

Except, my daughter will use the phrase "Not both of me."

Interesting article. My girls dress alike by choice. We bring out different clothes for them, but each looks at the other and wants the same outfit. I have never forced the issue either way. But, what I find interesting is that they use their names interchangeably - even with each other.

Hi Lesa, yes I think reading this piece back, it doesn't really take into account when children want to dress the same, nor does it take into account the extra hassle that making sure everyone has their own stuff brings. We met a family with triplets on holiday a couple of years back and the girls were dressed the same. The mum pointed out to me how much easier it had been to grab stuff in the shop, rather than having to look for three different styles or colours etc - I suppose reading this now and yours and Sarah's comments, it makes me wonder how much individuality comes from what you are wearing anyway when you are so little. My daughters sometimes choose to dress the same as well, they look nothing like each other.

My girls like to be dressed the same - their reply when I say they don't have to is "But mummy, we are twins!" I have no issue whatsover with this and when the time comes and they choose to wear different things, thats fine with me. They wear the same uniform at school, as do every other child who attends. It is also like Lesa says, much easier to just have two of everything and if my girls aren't complaining then neither am I!

I know, after all this wittering on, Emily and Melissa do love to dress the same some days. :)

my and my sister always wear the same dress...lolzz.. we wore same dresses when we were in scholls and college even and now also....thanks for th post you remind me my old days...
