EMILY and Kath Blunt face losing each other to cancer.
Emily was diagnosed last year with osteosarcoma and went through chemotherapy. The cancer, however, has spread and is inoperable. Doctors recently gave Emily only a short time to live.
The 20-year-olds are from Longlevens in Gloucestershire. Kath is studying sports science at Hertfordshire University, and Emily was studying sociology at Exeter University.
Their family plans fundraising events, including a fun run on June 29, for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, which will hold the Bone Cancer Awareness Week on June 21-28, 2008, and the Patients' and Supporters' Conference on June 28.
Emily and Kath have two older brothers, 23-year-old fraternal twins, Daniel and Philip.
