Masche sextuplets turn 1

THE Masche sextuplets -- Bailey, Blake, Cole, Grant, Molli & Savannah -- turned 1 on June 7, 2008.

They are expected to appear on The Today Show in the morning, June 18, 2008, and in a one-hour special in the evening (10 p.m. EDT) on WeTV. The News-Herald will have an update on their birthday.

Ten sets of twins and one set of triplets to graduate in Texas

Think six sets of twins in the same graduating class is a big deal? Check out North Crowley High School in Texas. It will graduate 10 sets of twins today. (Six are identical, and four are fraternal.) And, oh yeah, a set of triplets thrown in for good measure. The school had 434 graduates in all.

Congratulations to all!

The school might make the Guinness World Records for having the most sets of twins enrolled in the same grade at a single school. Hatfield Elementary School in Fort Worth has 15 sets of twins, including eight sets in kindergarted. Bison Elementary School in Richland Hills had 12 sets of twins last year.

Six sets of twins graduate in Michigan

SIX sets of twins graduated high school in Flushing Township, Mich., on June 2, 2008: Trevor and William Pougnet (identical twins), Johnathon and Nicole Michelin, Danielle and Janet Wittbrodt, Thomas and William Kellaway, David and Marcy Johnston and Rachel and Taryn Acedo.

West Virginia fraternal twins turn 90

FRATERNAL twins, Elvin Moellendick and Evelyn Mitchell, turned 90 on May 29 and celebrated with more than 40 family and friends. Happy birthday!

Is it Christmas then? Oh well, here's some advice about presents for babies and toddlers

EVERY year it gets earlier doesn't it? People moaning about Christmas getting earlier I mean...
Still, as I appear to be the last mum standing at the school gates who hasn't yet bought ALL the presents, cards, decorations, stocking fillers and booze, I am starting to think about it at least.

WELL here we are. A year on and what has this blog achieved?
I'd like to think that it has been a useful resource for parents about various issues or topics connected to the joys, pleasures, trials and tribulations of bringing up a family, especially one where two or more of the kids came along at the same time.

My birthday, by Emily

My birthday was lots of fun because I had all my friends over. Olivia, Daya and Lucia came to my house for a sleepover. We went to the cinema to see Hoodwinked. It was really good but Mum fell asleep. Then we went to Pizza Hut. Lucia was still on her way back from a gymnastics competition so Mum rang her mum so she could order what she wanted to eat. Olivia and me shared a pizza. For pudding, Daddy helped us all get ice cream from the Ice Cream Factory. Then my mum drove us home. We played on my Pixel Chick and then my cousins Oliver and George came and gave us some presents. Oliver taught us a new game. After they went home, we went to bed and chatted. I was the first to go to sleep. I loved my birthday and I love being eight.

My birthday, by Melissa

On Sunday at  11o’ clock, my friends came to my house.  First we opened our presents and then we played with them. Then I took some pictures with my new camera. Mum made a buffet and we had some lunch. After that we had a talent contest and Emily won, and I came second. Then I blew out the candles on my cake and everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday.’ After that we went to the cinema in the car. We saw Hoodwinked. It was really good. Everybody enjoyed it. Then we went to Pizza Hut and we met Lucia there. Me, Georgina and Rhiannan had ham and cheese pizza. Then we all had ice cream. The lady, who was called Claire, gave us all balloons. We went home and I went in Daddy’s car. Oliver and George came and we played some games. Then we went upstairs and we got ready for bed. My friends stayed because it was a sleepover. We chatted and then we went to sleep. In the morning we got dressed. After that we played with my Bratz make-up model. It was good playing with it because it was my favourite present. Then everyone went home. My birthday was very busy but a lot of fun!

I  hope   that  my  next birthday  is going  to  be  just  as  fun.

Birthday approaching!

One of the poshest pictures we have taken of Emily and Melissa. Ever. I'd hoped to scan in some snaps from when they were tiny so that I could say: "Wow look how they've changed," as it's their eighth birthday on Sunday. For some reason I haven't had time! Full reports to follow. Oh and this picture makes me cry. Perhaps it's pure horror that two six-year-olds have been allowed a smidgin of lipstick (more than I ever wear, must be their nan's!) or most likely, I'm a soppy old so and so.
